The Management EP

Sometime during the early days of the 21st century, Abattoir Buggery’s manager, Herr Doktor, grew impatient with the band’s apparent lack of productivity (see “Knight, Suge”). To appease the taskmaster, the duo cranked out a quickie EP of ditties that were intended to appear on forthcoming albums.

From the late-’90s grunge-rock of the band’s “Java” to an intriguing cover of the Lemonheads’ “Into Your Arms” and an absolutely caustic, well off-the-mark take on the Meatmen’s “Mr. Tapeworm” (not that the original was all that cohesive), the eight-song platter is a spicy sampler of Purple Puke Music fare.

A horrible metaphor, but there you have it.

Yet, it bears repeating that the Meatmen cover is particularly nauseating. The term “fans only” would definitely apply here.
